Lady Beavers have sites on regional repeat

Boasting two of the top doubles teams in the area, Scott Community High School will be aiming for a second consecutive Class 3-2-1A regional title which will be played on the home courts Friday and Saturday.

With both teams at full strength, they are expected to be seeded among the top three. No one will be surprised if it’s an all-Scott City finals on Saturday.

Bella Myers and Sadie Hermosillo (11-3) have been in the No. 1 spot on the team - and deservedly so after finishing ninth in last year’s state tournament.

Hermosillo, however, was unable to play during the first couple of weeks this season and then missed about 10 days - including the league tournament - while awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.

The test came back negative and she’ll be on the court with her playing partner this weekend.
