Lady Beavers peaking at right time in SWH blowout

To say the Scott City girls were dominating in their first round Class 3A sub-state tournament game would be an understatement.

Focused? Definitely.

Finding the right word can be difficult when you are leading a team 39-1. Or when a team doesn’t score its first field goal for nearly 16-1/2 minutes.

Even the final 59-24 score didn’t reflect the lopsided nature of Scott City’s win over Southwestern Heights on Monday night.

“I’d say we were focused,” says head coach Sarah McCormick. “Our juniors have been preaching that to our young girls and I think we saw the result tonight.”

The Lady Beavers were impressive at both ends of the floor.
