Lady Beavers off to a powerful start

Officially, powerlifting isn’t a sport that’s recognized by the Kansas State High School Activities Association.

That matters little to the athletes who are preparing for state lifting events in late March.

“When powerlifting season comes around all the kids in the weight room - whether or not they’re in winter sports - all get excited about the upcoming competitions,” says Scott Community High School powerlifting coach Todd Richardson who is in his fourth season.
