Tourney ace, All-State honors highlight Lewis’ golf memories

After earning All-State honors in the Class 3A state golf tournament a year ago, Jackson Lewis had high hopes entering his final season at Scott Community High School.

“I thought we had a chance to do pretty well as a team, plus I was looking forward to playing with my brother,” says the two-time state qualifier. “It was going to be a fun way to close out my high school sports.”

Even after the initial announcement that school was shut down and KSH-SAA was cancelling all spring sports, Lewis held out a slight hope that things would change.

“I continued to go out and practice, but after awhile I accepted this was how it was going to be and I moved on,” he says.

It wasn’t the way that Lewis, or anyone else, expected their senior year of high school to end.
