With just one carry in the first half, it didn’t appear that this year’s Shrine Bowl game would leave many lasting memories for Jarret Jurgens.
That changed in the second half.
The Scott Community High School standout had 11 carries in the third quarter, including a touchdown, and earned MVP honors for the West team in the annual game played this year at Carnie Smith Stadium in Pittsburg.
In addition to scoring his team’s first touchdown in a 21-14 loss, Jurgens finished with 54 yards on 12 carries.
