Is NASCAR ready for political correctness?
NASCAR has taken the extremely bold move of deciding it doesn’t want to offend anyone by banning Confederate flags from flying at its race tracks.
NASCAR without the Confederate flag . . . that’s like baseball without hot dogs. That’s like a KKK rally without a burning cross.
Okay, maybe the baseball and hot dogs went a little too far, but how does NASCAR plan to make such a move without offending its Confederate flag carrying fan base in the deep South and without being criticized for succumbing to “political correctness”?
It’s been emotional enough for southerners to see their beloved monuments coming down, but is banning the flag a step too far?
