Preparing for the 4th
With a long holiday weekend approaching, the staff at Lake Scott State Park is hoping for a break from Mother Nature and weather forecasters.
The summer camping season got off to a slow start over the Memorial Day weekend and it’s been slow to recover with an unusually cool summer and an abnormal amount of rainfall.
The park showed signs of recovery during the recent Father’s Day weekend which brought out a bigger crowd than during the normally hectic Memorial weekend. Park Manager Greg Mills is hoping that will continue during the upcoming Fourth of July weekend.
