Evans wins singles title; Beavers qualify 6 for state

Despite entering the regional tournament with an undefeated record, William Cupp had largely been under the radar for most of the season.

After all, the Scott Community High School sophomore was the No. 2 singles player for the Scott Community High School squad, playing in the shadow of Joe Evans who is one of the top ranked players in the state.

Cupp and his teammates emerged from the shadows in a big way last Friday after capturing the Class 3A regional title at South Barber and qualifying all six team members for the state tournament.
