SC grapplers easily claim team title at Ulysses

Beavers advance 9 into finals

The Ron Smith Invitational is a two-day event, but the second day was a mere formality for Scott Community High School.

The Beavers had the team title wrapped up after the first day with nine grapplers advancing into the championship round. They sealed the deal with six gold medalists on Saturday to walk away with the team title - 235.5 to 214 - over runner-up and host Ulysses.

“As a team we wrestled really well on Friday,” says head coach Aaron Dirks. “We were pretty dominating in most of our matches.”
