SCHS doubles dominate in gold medal sweep

To say the Scott Community High School doubles teams were dominating during the first-ever Great West Activities Conference tournament would be an understatement.

The two teams combined for a 48-6 record in overall games played while easily capturing gold medals in the No. 1 and No. 2 divisions.

Even a roster change couldn’t stop the Lady Beavers from overwhelming the competition.

With junior Sadie Hermosillo unable to compete while awaiting the results of a coronavirus test, freshman Mallorie Cupp was moved from singles and paired with Bella Myers.

Head coach Corbin Janssen felt that given Colby’s strength in singles, the Lady Beavers would do better as a team with

Cupp stepping in for Hermosillo.
