It was a rough day for the Scott Community High School marching band that had to perform in winds of 35-40 miles per hour at the High Plains Marching Band Festival on Monday afternoon.
It was a little rougher for some members than others.
Freshman JP Harris came away from the performance with a split lip when a wind gust forced a sousaphone into his face.
“He was bleeding when he came off the field,” says director Elizabeth Janssen.
