With wins over state-ranked opponents on back-toback nights, the Dighton High School girls secured a No. 1 seed in the Northwest Kansas League Tournament which begins next week in Quinter.
When the Dighton girls fell behind 9-6 in the first quarter there was no need to worry.
It never felt like the SCHS boys were at risk of losing Tuesday’s Great West Activities Conference game against Cimarron.
Allowing just 14 points in the first half, the Scott Community High School girls had little trouble opening the new year with a lopsided 56-28 win over Cimarron.
While Piper Fox has been a twosport standout in basketball and volleyball, there was no doubt which she would choose when given the opportunity to compete at the next level.
