When he was looking at the schedule over the next two weeks, Dighton High School head coach Tyler Lingg saw an opportunity for his boy’s squad to build momentum and four “very winnable” games.
The Wichita County High School boys were able to overcome an 11 point deficit in the third quarter.
With wins over state-ranked opponents on back-toback nights, the Dighton High School girls secured a No. 1 seed in the Northwest Kansas League Tournament which begins next week in Quinter.
When the Dighton girls fell behind 9-6 in the first quarter there was no need to worry.
It never felt like the SCHS boys were at risk of losing Tuesday’s Great West Activities Conference game against Cimarron.
