It’s been a season of “firsts” for the Scott Community High School girls’ wrestling program, and that list grew a little longer last Saturday as the first two Lady Beavers earned a berth in the Class 4-3-2-1A state tournament.
Momentum begins one win at a time and a lopsided romp over Ulysses was a good starting place for the Scott Community High School girls as they begin looking ahead to regional.
With every match and every team point critical in a tight race for the Great West Activities Conference championship, Alex Rodriguez was feeling added pressure in his final match of the day.
Far too often this season, the Scott City boys have been the victim of pressure defense. They were able to flip that script at Ulysses last Friday.
