Citing additional costs related to the coronavirus, along with other health concerns, the Beefiesta Committee decided in a meeting last Thursday afternoon to cancel the free barbeque and tasting booths in conjunction with this year’s Scott County Fair.
As Scott County emerges from a three month shutdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, health director Edith Tarango is hopeful, but cautious.
Unrelenting 30-40 mile per hour winds over the past week, combined with temperatures near the century mark, have rapidly accelerated development of the area’s wheat crop.
As part of the phased-in opening in Scott County, local government buildings will begin opening next week.
